Although Baumkuchen is a German-originated spit cake, it is one of the popular pastries in Japan. Juchheim is a Japanese confectionary maker who is named after Karl Juchheim, the man who introduced Baumkuchen to Japan. Although Juchheim is most famous in Japan for their Baumkuchen, they also bake a range of very popular pound cakes, fruit cakes, and their original Juchheimkrantz almond Bundt cakes.

All Juchheim cakes are baked with a traditional German approach which minimizes the use of additives. As a result, you can enjoy the original taste of the high-quality ingredients.

This “Butter Pound” assortment of individually-wrapped cakes highlights high quality, natural butter in a range of different cakes. In this boxed set you can try their famous burnt-butter Baumkuchen, as well as three different types of pound cake: fruit cake, chocolate cake, and sand cake.

Their fruit cake features the freshness of raisins, their specially-candied orange peel, and a deliciously mellow rum liquor. Their rich chocolate cake features Juchheim’s original chocolate, which has been kneaded into the dough with cocoa powder, to create a truly decadent treat. Finally, their sand cake has four soft layers of cake, rich in egg, butter and vanilla, separated by three layers of specially selected apricot jam.
